The TIGER-SHARK Extra Long Cable & Lock Bundle | U-Lock and Long Steel Cable is very useful for securing my bike in public where the cable winds throughout the entire frame and both front and back wheels ensuring that I don't come back to a partially missing way to get home. In addition, when I go out of town, I transfer the Tiger-Shark to my skiff in the back yard to keep it secure to my dock so that it doesn't play on the lake without me (it's happened before). My only concern is that I need to be extra careful that I don't drop the U into the water as it is not directly connected to the locking mechanism. My favorite part about this cable / lock set is that you can change it to whatever 3 digit code you like and it’s easy to do! Another pro is the length of the cable as it has a good length which allows it to easily wrap around a bikes frame, rims and a stationary object ( light pole, bike rack, fence etc). Where I’d say it’s falls short is that the cable is very thin and could easily be clipped with a bolt cutter. To me this is better then not having any lock but doesn’t appear too hard to circumvent. Another possible weak spot is the end of the cable where it clicks into the combination part. It’s sort of coated in plastic and seems like if the plastic broke or say were melted the cable would just unlatch? Not 100% sure about this though. Over all light weight, doesn’t take up too much room in a bike bag and you can have peace of mind for a few mins if you wanted to run into a Deli to get a drink or snack.
I don’t have any doubt that this lock set will keep things secure. Well build and the finish looks great. Durable metal materials and a disc lock included.
The Hammerhead Doublelock system is a great product. It is a simple, easy-to-use security device. It can be used to lock any vehicle that has wheel hole spacing to allow the deterrent stick rod to pass through the spacing in the wheel. One must check the clearance between the wheel and the brakes. Rod is approximately 3/4" round. This locking system allows one to secure their vehicle in an area where one is hesitant to park. It could also be used on garden equipment like a brush chipper to keep it from dissappearing. This makes it useful for locking up all kinds of other portable equipment such as trailers, boats, ebikes and other outdoor equipment which cannot be secured inside a building.
